About
If you want to become a more confident, capable writer—whether for the GCSE English exams, coursework, or your own projects—you’re in the right place.

My teaching journey began in 2004, running a creative writing class for the Workers’ Education Association. Since then, I’ve spent years teaching with Adult Community Learning Essex, helping people of all ages and backgrounds develop their writing skills and find their voice.
Alongside teaching, I’m also a published writer. I’ve created English Literature study guides for ZigZag Education and worked as a copywriter for Car & Driving, producing clear, engaging articles to tight deadlines.
That combination of teaching and professional writing means I don’t just understand writing—I know how to explain it clearly and help you improve quickly.
Whether you’re aiming for better GCSE English grades, writing clearer essays, or you’re an adult looking for more confidence in your writing, I can support you step by step.

If you’ve found the resources on this site helpful, the next step is working together more closely. I offer small, focused online GCSE English group tuition, alongside supportive, in-person adult writing classes at a local college—each designed to help you build confidence, strengthen your writing skills, and make real progress.

If you’d like some support with your writing, feel free to get in touch for a friendly, no-pressure chat—I’d be happy to help. That’s what this site is all about: helping your writing grow, one step at a time.
